So you’re on your way to understanding the Predictive Index! This quick start guide will help you get familiar with the methodology and science to help you and your team navigate the people side of innovation.

This six-step guide will walk you through two “PI Learn” courses designed to familiarize you with the Predictive Index science and Team Optimization methodology. It is estimated to take one hour or less to complete this guide.

PART 1: Understanding Behaviors With PI

The relationship between people’s drives, needs, and behaviors is so powerful. In this lesson you’ll learn this relationship and see why it is the basis for PI’s assessments. Then, get a brief overview of the Behavioral, Cognitive, and Job Assessments.

You’ll learn the four key factors that drive workplace behavior, how those factors work in combination, and how they create a pattern that describes a person’s motivating needs.

If you’re going to pick one lesson to learn more about, this is the one! In this section you’ll experience an interactive video that will teach you the fundamentals of the PI Behavioral Assessment. Once you’ve got the basics of the Behavioral Assessment down, you’re ready to learn about Reference Profiles. Reference Profiles are like neighborhoods for PI patterns. Everyone’s pattern falls into a Reference Profile, and patterns in the same reference profile will have similarities. You’ll learn that there are 17 Reference Profiles, with each having unique drives, needs, and behaviors.
